Affiliates

The STX affiliate program is for publishers, creators, tipsters and communities who send players to STX. You get your own tracking links, see every step from a click to a first trade, and earn on the players you bring. There is nothing to build: you sign up, share your links and read your reports in STX Apps.

  1. Go to apps.stxapp.io/affiliates and choose Become an affiliate.
  2. Create your account, tell STX about your site or channel, and say what it will show: links to STX, live STX prices, or both.
  3. Accept the STX Affiliate Agreement.

Every application is reviewed. Your affiliate ID and your first link are ready as soon as you join, so you can start testing on the demo exchange straight away.

Your affiliate ID looks like aff_hozljdok. It is the same on every STX exchange you are enrolled on, and every link, sign-up and earning is recorded against it.

A link is the demo exchange’s address, /r/, and a code STX generates for you:

https://demo.stxapp.io/r/ip7owude

You start with a default link. Add as many more as you like, one per campaign or channel (a newsletter, a podcast, a Discord), each with a label only you see, such as “October newsletter”. Your reports split every figure by link, so you can see which campaign converts.

Links are never reused. Archiving a link hides it from your active list, and it keeps crediting you wherever it is still posted.

Add sub to a link to tell placements apart inside one campaign, for example a post, a banner position or a week:

https://demo.stxapp.io/r/ip7owude?sub=nfl-wk7

Add click_id to pass your own tracker’s ID for that click. STX hands it back to you in postbacks, so your tracker can match the conversion to the click:

https://demo.stxapp.io/r/ip7owude?sub=nfl-wk7&click_id=abc123

A sub-ID is up to 64 letters, digits, dots, dashes or underscores. A click ID is up to 128 of the same, plus ~. Anything else is ignored, and the click still counts.

A link sends the player to the STX markets page. To land them somewhere else on STX, such as the event you are writing about, add to= with a path on STX:

https://demo.stxapp.io/r/ip7owude?sub=nfl-wk7&to=/events/06f19033-c427-4cef-9647-794204e4e2e9

Only a path on STX works. A link to another site is ignored and the player lands on the markets page instead.

  • The last affiliate link wins. The last affiliate link a player clicks within 30 days before signing up gets the credit.
  • Credit is locked at sign-up. Once a player is credited to an affiliate, a later click on another link doesn’t move them.
  • It follows the player. The credit travels with the link, not just in a cookie, so it survives a link opened in one browser (such as the in-app browser of a social app) and finished in another.
  • Sign-ups in the STX app count. A player who signs up in the STX app can type your link code (ip7owude in the examples above) into the Referral code field, and the sign-up is credited to that link.
  • Every click counts. Each visit through your link counts as a click, and a visit from a browser with no affiliate click in the last 30 days also counts as a new visitor.

You can’t refer yourself. A sign-up with the email address of the person who accepted your affiliate agreement, or of your payee, is not credited. A sign-up that looks like one of those addresses with a +tag added, or that matches a player who is already a member, is credited but held for STX review, and earns nothing until STX clears it.

Your reports are in STX Apps under your affiliate’s dashboard.

  • The funnel. Clicks, new visitors, sign-ups, verified members, first deposits and first trades, per link, for any period. “Verified” means the player verified their email.
  • Players. One row per player you referred, under an anonymous reference such as plr_q4z7d2k9m3x8a6bt: the day they signed up, the link and sub-ID they came through, the days they verified, first deposited and first traded, their first deposit, and the volume they traded and fees they paid in the period. The reference is the same in every report and postback, and is never a name, email or account. Download it as CSV.
  • Sub-IDs. The funnel split by sub-ID, with clicks without a sub-ID shown first.

You see totals and anonymous player rows, never a player’s personal details.

If you run your own tracker, STX can call it when a player you referred signs up, verifies, first deposits or first trades. Each call is signed so you can check it came from STX. See Postbacks.

Invite the people you work with to your organization in STX Apps, each with a role:

  • Marketer creates, renames and archives links and campaigns, sets up postbacks, and sees the funnel and reports. A marketer never sees payee details.
  • Finance sees earnings and statements and keeps payee details up to date. Finance can’t create links.

Owners and admins can do both, and a viewer sees everything and changes nothing. See STX Apps.

What you earn is set by the plan in your affiliate agreement. Your plan and rate are shown in STX Apps once STX sets them. Earnings are estimated through the month and become final when the month closes; payment terms are in your affiliate agreement.

STX is live for trading in Ontario. The Ontario affiliate program has its own agreement, and is waitlisted for now: choose Ontario when you join, and STX emails you when Ontario demo access opens. If you are registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, add your AGCO registration number to your affiliate details, and STX keeps it on file.
